When you use VIT Lab File Sender, we collect the following information:

• Your VIT email address (for authentication)
• Registration details (name, passing year, contact number)
• File transfer metadata (file names, sizes, timestamps) for rate limiting
• Your IP address for security and rate limiting purposes

How We Use Your Information

• To verify you are a VIT student or faculty member
• To send files to registered recipients
• To prevent abuse through rate limiting
• To maintain service security

File Handling

We do not store your files. When you upload a file, it is:

• Temporarily processed in memory
• Attached to an email and sent to recipients
• Immediately discarded - we do not keep copies

Data Retention

Registration information is retained while your account is active. File transfer logs (without file contents) are retained for 30 days for security and abuse prevention purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase for authentication and database storage
• Google OAuth for VIT account verification
• Gmail SMTP for sending emails
• Vercel for hosting

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your registration data by contacting us. Note that this will prevent you from receiving files through this service.
